The Tuber borchii, commonly called Bianchetto Truffle, is a low value truffle, of variable size, 1-5 (10) cm in diameter, underground, globose or subglobose, without holes or cavities.
The Perideo is thin (250-500 mM thick), smooth, pruinose, whitish, yellow-brown, or reddish-yellow, pseudoparenchimatic structure with rounded cells.
The Globa comes marbled with veins whitish and reddish-white on a purplish-brown or reddish-brown.
It grows in light, sandy soils, in winter (January-March), under conifers and deciduous trees.
